Volyn oblast has a strong industrial sector, with factories for machine-building (electrical equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles), food-processing, chemical production, construction materials, wood-working and consumer goods.
Volyn oblast also features a large agricultural sector, growing grains, sugar beets, potatoes and vegetables and raising cattle and poultry.
The region hosts multiple annual art festivals like “Polesie Summer with Folklore”, “Christmas Mystery” and “On the Svityaz waves”, as well as frequent exhibition-fairs of folk handicrafts.
For a touch of excitement, Lambart Castle in Lutsk hosts knights’ tournaments every year.
